If you thought that Little Shop of
Horrors’ Audrey II was the only vocal vegetable in musical theater, think
again. On Friday and Saturday, May 28 and 29, Plants! The Musical! takes root
just outside Antidote Coffee in the Heights. The imaginative, family-friendly
work is the creation of Keith Reynolds (Slump Xmas Show) and Ashley Horn (Suchu
Dance). In this plot, the plants take on a secret human-like existence, working
together to save their garden from a drought. Characters include a tree, an
orchid, a daisy, dandelions and some moss. Intrigued? Tickets are only $10, with no
reservation required. Just stop by 729 Studewood in the Heights in time for the
8 pm performance.
