Fashion Houston, presented by Audi, premieres Thursday through Sunday, October 11 through 14, in Houston at the Wortham Theater Center. A year in the making, the roster of designers and runway shows was still growing at press time but promises to be impressive. Houston’s social doyenne Lynn Wyatt will show a collection of her favorite haute couture gowns at the Worth Theater Center, then it will move to Neiman Marcus. The Wortham Center venue will host runway shows and pop-up shops from local retailers, the Galleria will set up Stylist Closets in the tents, Laura Mercier will take over the VIP lounge, and the final event will honor legendary model-maven Eileen Ford, co-founder of Ford Models, who will appear. The gala evening, “Eileen Ford: Six Decades of Defining Beauty,” will be a multimedia and runway show of famous Ford faces, sponsored by Neiman Marcus. Legendary model Carmen Dell‘Orefice will also make an appearance. The powers behind this fashion feat — Jared Lang (director of Houston Audi dealerships), Neal Hamil (a former EVP at Ford Models and former president of Elite Models in NY) and Page Parkes promise a fashion-packed four-day lineup.
