Move over, wedding cupcakes. A new ceremonial sweet is quietly taking over the town. When social swells Claire and Dwight Emanuelson invited Niven Morgan and Shelby Wagner over for dinner, the Emanuelsons insisted they bring her. When Niven Morgan and Shelby Wagner invited us over, their only request was that we bring her. Who is this most-requested party guest? A Nothing Bundt Cake, of course. Founded in Las Vegas, Nothing Bundt Cakes are — dare I say — better than my Alabama grandmother’s, causing one to question how something this sweet and precious could have been born in Sin City. Dallas franchise owners Wendy and Craig Moore’s shop in Preston Royal Village offer Bundts in three sizes (eight-inch, 10-inch and minis), nine flavors (think pecan praline, chocolate-chocolate chip, white-chocolate raspberry) and coated in ribbons of perfectly sculpted cream-cheese icing. We suggest serving this well-received attendee — the lemon flavor is idyllic for a spring wedding — as individual desserts at the reception or bridal shower. 10720 Preston Road, in Preston Royal Village, 214.691.2253; nothingbundtcakes.com.
