Geo. H. Lewis Redesign

The powers that be at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, Houston’s final resting place for the famed and social set since 1936, have refashioned the public areas to mirror a stunning residence. The venerable funereal firm has commissioned Houston interior designer Cathy Chapman to renovate its interiors with a little help from GHL VP Bradford Wyatt’s stylish mom, Lynn Wyatt, who also consulted with her son and GHL president/CEO Billy Wells on the apropos choices. While we hope you won’t need to visit the revamped surrounds any time soon, those who do will find comfort in the English antiques, Imari and Wedgwood porcelain, wide-plank wood flooring and Clarence House and Brunschwig & Fils curtains and trims.
We’re impressed by the thoughtful touches, from an antique silver service from which one is offered coffee and tea to Pratesi and D. Porthault linens custom-embroidered expressly for Geo. H. Lewis.
