Wild crowds. Strong sales. A banner year for the Dallas Art Fair. That's the story from Fair Center at the Fashion Industry Gallery as a throng estimated at 1,000 for Opening Night stormed through the doors of FIG last eve and booths such as Jonathan Viner Gallery of London (reportedly selling out its trove of Dan Rees artex canvases) and Franklin Parrasch Gallery of NYC (which placed its 1966 John McLaughlin with an out of town collector) were stellar and successful. More details to come this weekend ... now we're off to the Nasher for Erick Swenson's opening. If you are anywhere near Dallas and interested in art, get up here fast. Two more days of art action remain. In parting, a fitting metaphor from newcomer Charlie James Gallery of L.A. (Steve Lambert's Everything You Want, Right Now!, 2011.)
