Our eye is on Cedric Charlier, a new Belgium design wunderkind who put in his time at Celine in Paris under Michael Kors and Jean Paul Knott, collaborated with Alber Elbaz at Lanvin for six years, then became creative director of Cacharel, reinventing the brand. Charlier follows timeless classics and breaks the codes of naïve, raw art, much like the painted faces and portraits he collects, searching for the hidden soul. His fall/winter debut collection under his own moniker was bought by Barneys New York and a chosen few of the best specialty stores around the globe. In Houston, the debut fall collection is at Tootsies, and in Dallas, at Forty Five Ten.
