The new River Oaks District going up along Westheimer Road, bordered by Westcreek Lane on the west side and Bettis to the north, will encompass 650,000 square feet of mixed use — a high-rise residence called 4444|Westheimer (278 units); two luxury hotels; chic, chic retail (270,000 square feet of shopping); a cinema; and office towers. OliverMcMillan (Morgan Dene Oliver and James McMillan) is behind the development (Buckhead Atlanta and San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter) and is purported to have signed San Francisco’s Le Colonial restaurant and NY’s Le Bilboquet bistro. Now, these are purports, not actual established fact. But we couldn’t (purportedly) be more thrilled … Deutsch & Deutsch now exclusively carries William Goldberg Ashoka Diamonds. Other big news at Deutsch & Deutsch is the opening of a Buccellati in–shop boutique. Think lush Buccellati fabric-covered walls and gilded cases shaped like antique clocks, which will house a large assortment of gold and silver jewelry, watches, silver flatware, picture frames and gifts … Home-goods store Biscuit opens November 1 at 2608 Westheimer, next door to Sloan/Hall. The boutique, owned by blogger (Peppermint Bliss) and designer Bailey McCarthy, stocks refurbished furniture refinished and designed by McCarthy, as well as lighting, pillows, accessories and a fabulous line of bedding created with friend and textile designer Isabel Wilson. Patterns are seasonal, and the current collection is designed and named for decorators and bloggers who have inspired the duo. The shop also has rotating artists, and first up is photographer Gray Malin, who will be in town for the opening party November 1… Elizabeth Anthony/Esther Wolf welcomes fashion designer Roberto Quaglia to the boutique November 8 and 9. Two designers showing at Fashion Houston will also be at EA/EW the week of their runway shows at the Wortham Theater Center: Stop by November 14 and 15 to meet Fotini, while Kevan Hall showcases his collection November 15 and 16 … Tootsies has a superbly busy month, with personal appearances from local jeweler Jill Reno November 8 and 9 and local contemporary designer David Peck November 14 and 15. Designer Don O’Neil of fashion collection Theia makes an appearance November 28, 29 and 30, while Vincent Peach of Peach Pearls Jewelry showcases his baubles November 30 … The very Chic Lash Boutique at 544 A Waugh Drive opened last month to add a little oomph to your everyday lash styles. Call 713.874.0114 to lash out … Zadok Jewelers welcomes the striking jewelry collection Goshwara, and a personal appearance by coin jewelry designer Melissa Braniff November 13 and 14 … Linda Cunningham hosts jeweler Whitney Henderson November 12 through 16. And has added Jill Reno to its roster of fabulous jewelry designers … CityCentre salutes the arrival of apparel and accessories shop (and locally owned) Charming Charlie, and the menswear store Dryden Kreps … Cosmetics and beauty emporium Ulta opens soon at the corner of  Kirby and West Alabama in the old Borders Books space by Brio Tuscan Grille … M Penner in Uptown Park announces the opening of Houston’s first — and Texas’ largest — shop-in-shop for Swedish luxury shirt maker Eton … Happy fifth birthday to super-stylish vintage clothing boutique Cheeky VintageNeiman Marcus hosts a wealth of appearances this month, starting with accessories designer V. Bruce Hoeksema of VBH November 9. Many of the designers presenting at Fashion Houston will also make appearances at Neiman’s, including Mansion Rahib Karyouz, Laurel Berman of Black Halo and Bogesse brothers Patrick and Fabrice Tardieu, all on November 13; Zac Posen, November 14; and Lubov Azria of Herve Leger, November 15 … Luxury leather fashion designer Jose Sanchez hosts his grand-opening soirée Tuesday, November 13, at his atelier at 2501 S.
