Lash Studio (3699 McKinney Ave., Suite 400, 214.520.0511; lashstudiotx.com)
• Why We’re Blushing: Lash Studio’s decor oozes extravagance: Walls are painted in a spectrum of pinks and magentas, a chandelier hangs in each of the five private rooms, and shelves throughout are topped with leopard-print cocktail glasses. The VIP perks? The whole place can be reserved for parties, and LS’s technicians even make house calls.
• What We’re Trying: We’re ditching our daily mascara for a set of new NovaLash eyelash extensions. Lashes are applied one at a time, so we come out looking like Anne Hathaway and not Tammy Faye. (And after our lids are aflutter, we’re going to convince everyone that we just spent a week in St. Barts and not a few minutes getting the Bronze Biologic airbrush tan.)

Uptown MakeUp (3699 McKinney Ave., Suite 102, 214.521.3501; shopuptownmakeup.com)
• We’re Puckering Up: In the name of replenishing your shadows, blushes and glosses, make tracks to owner Laura Bush’s second endeavor, Uptown MakeUp. (And, no, it’s not that Laura Bush — this one’s an expert on beauty, not on being First Lady.) Instead of shelves stocked with designer duds à la Bush’s across-the-street boutique L.Bartlett, Uptown MakeUp’s sleek shop is filled with a trendy stash of cosmetics, plus skincare, hair and bath goodies.

• Vamp Up Your Vanity: Get your hands on vivid shadows from the Italian line Nouba, waterproof eyeliner from Bellápierre and the Lash DNA mascara by Smashbox. To brighten your eyes the morning after a late night at The Joule, go for Sharla’s Dark Circle Relief.
