Terrific Toile and Coveted Country French
A retail grand opening is always an occasion for revelry, but the
experience is amplified when both philanthropic and environmental
components are involved. So it was when Country French-inspired
home-furnishings destination Pierre Deux unveiled its new Highland
Village boutique. Titled “A Sublime Night, One Part Paris, and a Splash
of Palm Beach,” the beguiling fête, co-hosted by PaperCity magazine,
honored gala chairmen Lucy and William Carl and Anne Carl, vibrant in
Pucci (husband Noble was not able to attend). Houston manager Jessica
Salmons and assistant manager Kathleen Parish presided, while director
of marketing and public relations Naomi Cooper jetted in to join in the
festivities inaugurating Pierre Deux’s newest store pour la maison,
while Sugarbaby’s Cupcake Boutique contributed the confections.
Posh Personages in the Park
Toasting the park and shopping Pierre Deux were pals Judy Nichols
and Mary Jane Zummo, Conservancy board chairman Tom Downing, Leisa
Holland-Nelson, City of Houston director of international affairs
Terence O’Neill, Stephanie Baker, Susan and Tom McMahan, Cindi and
Franklin Rose, designers Jeremy Dattilo and Catheryn Wilson in Chanel,
Mary Ann and David McKeithan (she told us emeralds are her favorite
green thing), Joann and Bill Crassas, Gina and Devinder Bhatia, ever
sartorial George Lancaster, Pepette Mongrain, artist Alessandra di
Bagno, Valerie Palmquist with beau Tracy Dieterich, Gittings’ Andy
Cordes, Christina Girard sporting Hermès (the only lady we know with
her own authentic canopic jar), Conservancy board member Demetra Jones
and Conservancy executive director Doreen Stoller with colleagues Eliza
Wright, Kelsey Harrod, and Meghan Miller, who got their wish a few
weeks later with a dry Evening in the Park.
