The joys of the written word reigned absolute over two recent parties. Society for the Performing Arts reveled in the literary genius of Kathryn Stockett, author of The Help, at the organization’s 16th annual luncheon. This year’s recipient of the Ann Sakowitz Performing Arts Advocate Award was patron Mariquita Masterson, who received a Liz Glanville-designed 14K-gold brooch set with rubies for her years of commitment and support. Hopelessly devoted to the humanities: chair Lucinda Loya, honorary chair Karen Pulaski, SPA’s June Christensen and Priscilla Larson, Arvia Few, Kari Gonzales, Laura Rathe, Erin Siudzinski, Phyllis Williams, Rainey Knudson, Carol Piper, Katherine Murphy, Rene Flood, Ryan Reitmeyer, Corky Rebstock, Ruth Davis, and the honoree’s sister Susan Plum.
