As if we needed another excuse to hit the Design District on a weekly basis: Now it boasts Texas’ only stand-alone Waterworks showroom. During the opening cocktail party celebrating its relocation from Preston Center, guests trolled its 3,390 square feet and cast covetous eyes upon a handmade copper soaking tub from France and artisan-crafted Promenade tiles that require two weeks of sunlit drying time. Waterworks co-founder Barbara Sallick took a break from the action to share her favorite trends. “I love different metals and materials mixed together in interesting and creative ways by people who are unafraid of expressing their personal style. Vintage pieces easily combine with modern ones, and the results are fresh and inspired.” Going with the flow: Waterworks CEO Peter Sallick, George Cameron Nash, Stephani Riojas, Richard Drummond Davis, John Young, Carl Daniels, Lloyd Scott, Martha Sweezy, Larry Boerder, and David Dowler.
