The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, lured us to sultry South America with the debut of “Intersecting Modernities: Latin American Art from the Brillembourg Capriles Collection” (through September 2), curated by the MFAH’s Mari Carmen Ramírez. The collection, amassed by Tanya Caprilles Brillembourg, offers a rare view of masters including Wilfredo Lam, Diego Rivera, Fernando Botero and Emilio Pettoruti, who are not typically seen in the United States. Lauding Latin America: Adolpho Leirner, Celina Hellmund, Mary Cullen, Luis Campos, Leslie and Brad Bucher, Stephanie Madan, and artist Elias Crespin.
