It was first-rate philanthropy for the Brookwood Community’s biennial gala. Chairmen Pat Breen and Franci Crane oversaw the evening, themed An Evening in the Garden, which brought in a record-breaking $803,000 for the residential community that provides a dignified living and work environment for the disabled. Event impresario Richard Flowers underwrote the night’s decor: his interpretation of an English garden in the Downton Abbey age. The night honored Joe Dilg with the Jack T. Trotter and Betty Wheless Trotter Brookwood Legacy Award, as well as 2011 co-chairs Celina Hellmund, Cynthia Petrello, and Melinda Stubbs for their continued support and service to Brookwood. In the altruistic assembly: Barbara and Gerald Hines, Jim Crane, Lauren and Andre Granello, Dan Breen, Lynn Wyatt, Susie Dilg, Anne and Albert Chao, Anne and Charles Duncan, Molly and Jim Crownover, and Susan and Buddy McClung.
