It was a gilded night for Covenant House Texas when 600 supporters turned out to celebrate the charity’s 30th anniversary. The Hilton Americas–Houston ballroom sparkled, in keeping with the golden-themed soirée that included a seated supper and dancing. Gala chairmen Julie and Jay Rogers — with gold medal worthy support from gala committee members Mary Eads, Cheryl Boblitt, Aimee Snoots, Jo Ann Petersen, Linda Ligon, Kristen Carlson, and Amanda Crump — raised more than $900,000 for the homeless and runaway youth at CHT. Honors went to Tonya Hamilton and Albert Hergenroeder of Texas Children’s Hospital, for their continued dedication to the at-risk youth of Houston. Hearts of gold: Covenant House president Kevin Ryan, Crystal Lovings, Laurie and Matt Schaub, Lisa and John Sarvadi, executive director Ronda Robinson, Davin DeGrate and Bill Balleza.
