Hot Shops and Top Restaurants Get a New Neighbor: Public Art Transforms Fort Worth’s Hottest Development

Fort Worth’s thriving new mixed-use development WestBend is home to many hot shops and restaurants (HG Sply Co., Pax & Parker, Core Power Yoga, East Hampton Sandwich Company, etc…), but it’s a recently unveiled art exhibition that has captured our attention.

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art has teamed up with WestBend to showcase reproductions from the museum’s photography collection in six month intervals. For a bold visual effect, each image is presented on backlit film and displayed in lightboxes. The first iteration in the series on display includes nine 4-by-6 foot photographs.

The exhibition is part of WestBend owner Trademark Property Company’s Conscious Place Initiative, which aims to celebrate local artisans in each of its developing projects by engaging people, building partnerships, and celebrating rich culture.

“Incorporating public art into our properties by partnering with local and national artists and museums is a key initiative for [us] because it helps elevate the purpose of our properties beyond retail and commerce,” says Terry Montesi, Trademark Property Company CEO. “Art adds soul to a property, along with educational and inspirational elements.”
