The Nasher’s New Man: Famed Museum Puts a Retail Wiz/Composer in Charge

BY // 12.01.16

Donald Fowler is a man of many talents. The longtime retail guru worked in the home department at Stanley Korshak before landing at the recently shuttered Nest boutique, where he was senior buyer and manager. He’s also a writer, composer, lyricist, and creator of the musical Creep, which debuted last year.

This month, the imaginative and theatrical Fowler gets a new store to call his own: He’s just been announced as director of retail for the Nasher Sculpture Center’s Nasher Store.

His weighty task: to bring the museum boutique to international acclaim by stocking interesting pieces, both in store and via e-commerce — jewelry, housewares, design objets, publications, periodicals — and create in store events focused on local and international artisans and designers.

Nasher Store at the Nasher Sculpture Center, 2001 Flora St., 214.241.5110.
