Adele's new album, "25", will be released on November 20.
Grammy-winning artist Adele has officially released her new single, “Hello“, along with a video directed by Xavier Dolan. The singer revealed the release date of her forthcoming album, 25, yesterday, and has been hinting towards the arrival since last Sunday. It’s available for pre-order now; listeners will be able to get their hands on the tracks Friday, November 20.
The artist recently posted an open letter explaining what 25 is all about. “My last record was a break-up record, and if I had to label this one, I would call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself.” She took to Instagram yesterday morning to announce the record title and release date, and to give her fans a look at the album’s cover. As part of the marketing push, viewers of the British TV show The X Factor were recently teased with a video.
Adele’s new album is good news for fans, who have been waiting since 2011 when her previous album, 21, was released. After her single “Skyfall” came out in 2012, she took a hiatus from recording to focus on raising her son. Since then, Adele has assimilated the experiences of motherhood and adulthood and put pen to paper to produce an 11-track album.
As she told Zane Lowe of Apple Music Beats 1: “I’m sure I’m wrong with this, but I feel like there’s been a massive change in me in the last couple of years, having become a parent, and me and all my friends suddenly living grown-up lives and having responsibilities we haven’t had before.” Songs from the album include “I Miss You,” “When We Were Young” and “Million Years Ago.”
