Flavor of Love: Dallas’ Most Romantic Restaurants for Valentine’s Day

Whether it’s an old favorite or a new flavor you’re seeking for your Valentine’s Day meal, these restaurants have you covered with everything from glamorous evenings to casual and romantic venues.

ROSEWOOD MANSION ON TURTLE CREEK
2821 Turtle Creek Blvd.
Celebrate Friday through Sunday at the Mansion Restaurant with a three-course menu featuring rabbit terrine with black trumpet and consommé gelée, kumamoto oyster, tea smoked pheasant with pumpkin and Earl Grey jus and sunchoke ravioli with confit onion, truffle cream and parmesan broth, just to name a few. And choose your favorite dessert among strawberry sorbet with hibiscus mouse and yuzu cream, a chocolate brownie with caramelia mouse and an apple tart with candied hazelnut and caramel ice cream.

MADRINA

Choosing between Mexican or French? For a prix-fixe of $75 per person, head to Madrina to experience a special French-Mex menu (plus a champagne toast!), available only on February 14.

Start off with your choice of a baby spinach salad with black truffle vinaigrette and chicken-skin chicharron or lobster bisque in cognac reduction. Elevate to escargots, octopus carpaccio or coffee-cured foie gras tochon followed by chicken breast al pastor, pan-seared scallop in vichyssoise cream or filet with mushroom gratin. Enjoy the Dallas Arts District as your romantic backdrop on Sunday and reserve your four-course dinner at Proof + Pantry in One Arts Plaza. Featuring New American cuisine with items like saffron mussel soup, pan-seared fois gras and maple-glazed quail, the special menu is available only on February 14.

The Stephen Pyles Restaurant, home of contemporary Southwestern dishes, will offer a special Valentine’s Day menu from February 12 to February 14. The four-course menu will feature items such as venison tartare, a blue corn tamale tart, and pheasant roulade with celery-root purée and apple jus.

Choose between a white chocolate cheesecake and a warm chocolate gateau for dessert. Dinner is $95 per person. Reservations available here.

COOK HALL

Stop by the W Dallas-Victory Hotel Saturday night for an evening of romance and delicious food. Cook Hall, the gastropub known for its small shareable plates, will be offering a special four-course dining experience on February 13. Highlights from the menu include Beef Wellington with black truffle red wine sauce, saffron seafood stew and for dessert ricotta and mascarpone cake with candied rose petals and pistachios. PAUL MARTIN’S AMERICAN GRILL

If you’re busy on Sunday, celebrate your Valentine’s Day anytime this weekend with Paul Martin’s special weekend menu, available Thursday, February 11 through Friday February 15. In addition to the regular menu, special offerings include herb-crusted filet mignon, Alaskan king crab legs, and pan roasted black cod. Each choice comes with a suggested wine pairing. UCHI

If it’s fine Japanese cuisine you’re in the mood for, Uchi is planning to serve its favorite menu items through an Omakase (meaning you’ll leave it up to the chef) tasting menu for two. Uchi’s menu will be set at $150 prix fixe and will be available February 12 through February 14. Reservations can be made here.

DEL FRISCO’S GRILLE

Celebrate with a Valentine’s weekend brunch at Del Frisco’s Grille February 13 and February 14 (extended brunch hours from 11 am to 3 pm). Enjoy bites and sips of Del Frisco’s specialty cocktail and dessert whipped up just for the romantic day. The sure-to-match-your-pink-ensemble “Cupid’s Cocktail” features Stoli Razberi, pomegranate juice, orange juice and is finished off with J. Have dessert for dinner with BITE by Eddy T’s five-course prix fixe tasting menu featuring delicious notes of chocolate in every BITE. Enjoy clever and innovative ways of incorporating chocolate flavors into each dish from mushroom ganache baked brie with chocolate cherry preserves to filet mignon with chocolate vodka demi and beet pasta with white chocolate and goat cheese. The desserts after the dessert are none other than Godiva crème Brulee, green tea cheesecake with white chocolate semifreddo, and Nutella fondue for two. Penne Pomodoro in Snider Plaza is offering a special February 14 menu reflecting the spirit of the heart. Dine on heart-shaped lobster-stuffed ravioli, a rack of lamb with butternut squash risotto or sautéed sea scallops with arugula, truffle oil and shaved parmesan. TAVERNA

If you want to enjoy Italian, head Uptown to Taverna for a special Valentine’s meal filled with rustic Italian charm and delicious bites. The February 14 menu includes a mango, avocado and cucumber lobster salad, beef tenderloin with foie gras sauce and black truffle and scallop potatoes and a branzino cartoccio with white wine and tomato confit. Dessert is a black, white and gianduja chocolate mousse with raspberry confit and champagne sauce. Reservations are recommended but not required.

If you dream of spending Valentine’s Day in Paris, look no further than Knox Street, where Toulouse will transport you to a friendly Parisian cafe by day and a romantic soirée at night. On February 14, you and your other half can enjoy a special menu featuring Massachusetts sweet petite oysters with champagne mignonette, lamb lollipops with mint-basil pesto, lobster and crab soufflée with velvety lobster cream sauce, and, for dessert, dark chocolate fondue and raspberry macaroons. Reservations are recommended but not required. Enjoy a romantic evening in Highland Park Village and dinner for two at Bistro 31, which will be serving a special Valentine’s Day selection on February 14.
