Kinetic Formula
Musiqa and Open Dance Project collaborate on a high-energy five-performance evening of premieres starring KINETIC, the conductor-less orchestra. The night, dubbed Bodies in Motion, will feature two new pieces choreographed by Open Dance Project artistic director Annie Arnoult set to string orchestra by Musiqa composers Pierre Jalbert and Marcus Maroney. Guest artist Jane Weiner — founder and director of Hope Stone Dance — will choreograph Lonely Suite; also included will be Arnoult’s piece Stalemate, featuring music by indie star Andrew Bird; and Silent Moon, a duo for violin and cello by composer Augusta Read.

Pierre Jalbert’s String Theory is the culminating collaboration featuring the entire 17-piece string orchestra, incorporating the stunning visual art of H.J. Bott. Saturday, September 23 at The Hobby Center; performance starts at 7:30 pm and tickets are just $20.
