Two of HBO’s biggest shows landed in Houston Wednesday night for an exclusive summer premiere event, where a collection of VIPs gathered at White Oak Music Hall to preview the season openers for hit shows Ballers and Insecure.

Prior to the premiere, guests were treated to a posh, pre-party on White Oak’s mezzanine, which featured everything from a live speed painting by Houston-based artist Ange Hillz to custom monogrammed, show-themed shirts by DGTPrintLab.

A bevy of fare — including stuffed waffle cones, miniature sliders, and a build-you-own avocado station courtesy Cordua Catering — and flowing cocktails kept attendees fueled for the long night ahead.

Of course, no special screening is complete without a little celebrity talent. The event featured character cameos from both shows — Insecure’s Amanda Seales (Tiffany) and Natasha Rothwell (Kelli) as well as Ballers’ London Brown (Reggie) and Jazmyn Simon (Julie Greane) were all in attendance.

The viewing party wasn’t the only highlight of the night. HBO also partnered with TRAP Karaoke — a traveling, karaoke series highlighting hip-hop and trap music — to deliver the celebration’s finale.

Ballers star London Brown opened the show before audience members delivered live karaoke performances of hits like Kendrick Lamar’s “M.A.A.D City” and Murphy Lee’s “Shake Ya Tailfeather.” Insecure‘s Amanda Seales also snagged a performance slot delivering her own interpretation of Three 6 Mafia hits.
