Beer Heaven is Opening in The Heights: New Adult Playground Comes from a Father-Son Restaurant Team

BY // 03.27.17

Sausage party takes on new meaning as a popular German restaurant heads to The Heights. After six years of Pearland domination, King’s Biergarten expands outside of the bustling Houston-area suburb with its newest concept— King’s Bierhaus. The encore restaurant marks father-son proprietary duo Hans and Phillip Sitter‘s first foray into the Houston city limits.

With their second restaurant, the Sitters are channeling the notion “go big or go home,” debuting a massive 9,000 square-foot beer garden at 2044 East T.C. Jester Boulevard, which will be equipped with seating for 400, indoor and outdoor bars, communal tables with televisions, and an adult playground touting bar games (think corn hole, ping pong, and giant Jenga) and hammocks.

The new venue, which will showcase a more modern aesthetic than its sister restaurant, will serve authentic German fare alongside its signature gourmet sausages. Expect everything from Oma’s famous fried chicken to giant beer pretzels to grace the menu.

“The launch of King’s BierHaus is our vision for the future of where the dining experience will go,” Phillip Sitter says. “The vision is entertainment, quality dishes, and an overall fun, unique environment for you to forget the outside world for a while. It’s all about taking what we’ve done at King’s Biergarten [in Pearland] and morphing that into a modern-day BierHaus. Expect more fusion, more biers, bigger festivals, and of course, more schnapps!

“We wanted to bring that same level of enthusiasm, fusion dishes, and family atmosphere that has come to define King’s Biergarten closer to the City of Houston and demonstrate to the community who we are and why we’re so passionate about our culture.”

Of course, the headliner will be King’s Bierhaus’ bar, which will feature 22 German, six local, and two central European beers on tap (the selection includes five of the world’s best beers); exclusive German and Austrian wines; a diverse whiskey list; a mix of specialty cocktails; and the largest schnapps collection in Texas.

While King’s Bierhaus won’t make its official debut until the end of April, eager fans can attend a limited VIP preview fromThursday, April 20 through Monday, April 24. Tickets, which include an entree and cocktail, can be secured starting Saturday April 8.
