Lynn Wyatt Is Celebrated By a National Magazine — and You Won’t Believe Her Crazy Champagne Feat

BY // 01.13.16

The February issue of Vanity Fair finally started hitting mailboxes in the 77019 this week, to much excitement from many River Oaks residents, who were awaiting the profile of our very own international socialite Lynn Wyatt. Page Six has already taken notice and promoted the story.

We already knew Lynn Wyatt was celebrating her birthday all year long and that a Vanity Fair photographer and writer were seated with Wyatt at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s Grand Gala Black & White Ball. What we didn’t realize is that the story would take the form of an in-depth, 2,400 word profile on Wyatt. The author, James Reginato, is clearly smitten with Wyatt after spending several months with her working on the story. And who wouldn’t be? She’s energetic, glamourous, witty, and reigns supreme as ambassador of Houston’s arts and culture scene.

Read it here. A few highlights include:

Wyatt catching a champagne cork mid-air at the Carlyle while being interviewed.

Stories of her childhood as Sakowitz department store heiress — she was chauffeured to school but made the driver drop her off a block away from San Jacinto High School so she wouldn’t stand out.

Valentino describing Wyatt as one of his houseguests: “In Gstaad she wakes my entire chalet at seven A.M., when she does two hours of aerobics in front of my bedroom, playing her crazy music. Then she skis for the whole day…”

In two decades of friendship with Andrew Lloyd Webber, she has never missed one of his openings, which Webber teases “speaks volumes about her long-suffering loyal friendship.”
