Mixing a proper cocktail can be intimidating, especially for the average party host. Enter Sourced Craft Cocktails — an Austin-based delivery service — which is looking to eliminate the angst by delivering user-friendly cocktail experiences straight to your front door.
Sourced founder and CEO Tim Angelillo created the company after a soirée at his home ended with a surplus of leftover tequila. Realizing the untouched spirits could be attributed to his guests’ fear of mixing their own drinks, Angelillo enlisted the help of Austin mixologist Brian Floyd, Sourced’s creative director and cocktail guru.
Together, the duo launched the mobile bartending service in October 2015, and it’s now available in Austin, Dallas, and coming soon to Houston.
So how does it work? Customers log on to Sourced Craft Cocktails’ website to view the day’s featured menu. The rotating menu includes classics such as the Old Fashioned, Texas Paloma, and Mint Julep, as well as special drinks like the GoodPop French 75, a twist on the classic drink that is paired with a hibiscus mint ice pop from Austin-based GoodPop.
Select your cocktail of choice and Sourced packages the full experience for transport — liquor, fresh juice, mixers, glasses, barware, artisanal ice, and the cocktail recipe are all included. Package prices average $50 for six drinks (2 people), $75 for 12 drinks (4 to 6 people), and $160 for 30 drinks (10 to 15 people).
In three hours or less, a Sourced staffer delivers the supplies in the company’s signature wooden barrel, but the experience doesn’t stop there. A tutorial follows, making the customer a steady and able bartener. When you’re finished, just pack up the barrel, and place it on your front step for pick-up.
Sourced has expanded its offerings to include a bridal experience, which can be used for a bridal shower, bachelorette party, or even on the actual wedding day.
