If food is the way to your heart, then Valentine’s planning will be easy. The only difficult part is choosing where to dine. Whether you seek a sky-high view of the city or an intimate Dallas institution, here are our recommendations on what to eat and where to stay this weekend.

Raising Love to New Highs
Executive chef Patton Robertson is preparing an Asian feast at Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck ($125 per guest; optional wine pairing $50). Menu highlights include poached West coast oysters, Thai lobster tail, bluefin tuna Toro and crispy duck leg with ginger-duck jus. If the 14th is booked, you’re in luck: The love continues through February 15. 214.741.5560.

Vine Ripened
The Grape will celebrate Valentine’s with a three-course menu on February 14, beginning at 5 pm, prepped by chef de cuisine Sarah Snow ($65 per person; optional wine pairing $25). 214.828.1981.

Beloved Bubbly
A decadent dinner of ceviche, oysters Rockefeller, tempura Texas quail, smoked heirloom tomato bisque and chocolate rubbed beef filet await you at SER Steak + Spirits in the Hilton Anatole Hotel ($95 per person or $145 with wine pairing). Chef Anthony van Camp will offer items from his signature menu as well. Even if you don’t make it for dinner, the Bubble Lounge is the perfect place to top off your Valentine’s evening. Choose from elegant desserts, sip champagne and listen to piano music in an intimate setting. 214.761.7470.

Paris is for Lovers
No one knows romance quite like the French. Lavendou Bistro Provencal executive chef and owner Pascal Cayet has dreamed up a decadent three-course dinner to celebrate Valentine’s ($70 per person, plus French wines from an extensive list). Cream of brie soup, duck terrine, filet of sole and chocolate mousse will transport you to the city of love — without leaving the city. 972.248.1911.

Velvety Finish
Del Frisco’s Grille has created a new take on red velvet, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The red velvet waffle ice cream sandwich pairs a crisp, warm shell of buttery waffle with creamy vanilla ice cream, drenched in a decadent homemade chocolate sauce ($10). 972.807.6152.

Fifty Shades of W
The W Dallas – Victory hotel will bring your innermost fantasies to life in the Extreme Wow Suite. After a Bliss Spa in-room couples massage, dine in private with an aphrodisiac dinner for two. Dessert of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries comes complete with a little black box of tantalizing toys … For more traditional lovebirds, the Kiss & Tell package offers a sweet night’s stay with a $100 dinner credit for Cook’s Hall (call for price). 214.397.4100.
