The Shed, at the center of the revitalized Dallas Farmers Market, is transformed into a “moveable feast.” Festivities include food stations from some of Dallas’ top chefs and restaurants, specialty cocktails, entertainment, and silent and live auctions. All proceeds will benefit the senior and child programs of the North Texas Food Bank.
HARVEST will benefit the North Texas Food Bank’s children and senior programs including:
- Food 4 Kids – The Food 4 Kids Backpack Program is a weekend backpack meal program for chronically hungry elementary-age children.
- School Pantry – The School Pantries Program puts healthful, shelf-stable food and fresh produce into the hands of children and families once a month.
- Partner Agency Distribution – Through our Partner Agency Network, we work with more than 200 organizations, including food pantries, soup kitchen and shelters, throughout 13 North Texas counties to provide food to those in need.
- Nourishing Neighbors – The Nourishing Neighbors Senior Home Delivery Program is a new Food Bank initiative addressing hunger among the growing numbers of senior adults who are in need of hunger relief.
Founded in 1982, The North Texas Food Bank is a top-ranked nonprofit relief organization, providing access to more than 170,000 meals each day for hungry children, seniors and families. In 2015, this organization provided approximately 63 million meals, and the need for hunger relief in North Texas continues to grow.
