On Thanksgiving night, November 24, more than 500,000 lights will illuminate Post Oak Boulevard for the 31st Annual Uptown Houston Holiday Lighting.  The FREE family event officially ushers in the holiday season with live entertainment, a fireworks extravaganza and a visit from jolly Saint Nick.  Beginning at 4:00 PM more than 200,000 people will fill Post Oak Boulevard between Westheimer and San Felipe. 

Beginning at 5 PM emcees Dave Morales and Susan O’Donnell will welcome the crowd and introduce some of Houston’s exciting local entertainment in the Holiday Stage Show. The show features live performances by the Houston Concert Band, Houston Choral Showcase, Salvation Army Harbor Light Choir, Mixteco Ballet Folklorico, Ballet Folklorico Azteca de Houston and TUTS among others. As the excitement grows, a traditional countdown is Santa’s signal to illuminate half a million twinkling lights on 80 trees along Post Oak Boulevard and surrounding area building tops.  The spectacular fireworks extravaganza begins at 7 PM. Free parking is available throughout the Uptown area.
