What

Wheel to Survive is an inspirational indoor cycling fundraiser where 100% of the dollars raised by riders directly funds programs for women currently battling ovarian cancer and provides research dollars for a cure. Be the Difference Foundation was formed in 2012 by four ovarian cancer survivors with a common goal to “Be the Difference” in the fight against ovarian cancer.

Register, Ride and Raise – it’s as easy as 1,2,3!  Be a team captain and start a relay team or register for a team that you’ve been invited to join. You can also register as an individual rider and choose when you want to ride.  The event is 6 hours with six 45 minute back-to-back rides. Team members ride relay style sharing a bike.

Why You Should Ride!

The time to make a difference in the fight against ovarian cancer is now!  One woman is diagnosed with ovarian cancer every 24 minutes. One woman dies from ovarian cancer every 37 minutes.  7 out of 10 women diagnosed with ovarian cancer will die from the disease.  Sadly, there is no routine, reliable early detection test for the disease. Research shows that when ovarian cancer is detected and treated early, the five-year survival rate is greater than 92%. Often symptoms are vague and subtle, and unfortunately most patients are diagnosed too late. In 2016, it is estimated that 21,000 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and 14,000 will die from the disease.

How to Register

You can register to ride at www.wheeltosurvive.org by paying your $40 early-bird registration fee ($50 registration fee after 8/1/16) and setting up your fundraising profile. Riders commit to a $250 fundraising minimum.
