The twenty- and thirtysomething ladies and sprinkling of gents who filled the sleek environs of Adara Medical Spa in the Museum District were all ears when the joviality of the cocktail evening paused for the much-anticipated Q&A with spa owner Dr. Karan Sra and Revolution Studio‘s Kim Syma. In this world of young professionals, it’s all about maintaining a fresh face and a fit body.

Sra had organized the evening in her design award-winning offices, which on this night were dressed in bouquets of white tulips and dramatic extensions of white tulips. Glasses of champagne, wine and craft cocktails were part of the diversions that included the culinary talents of Complete Eats chef Adrian Perez and the party prowess of LIVE! Event Design founder/creative director Taylor DeMartino.

Special guest on this evening was SkinCeuticals nationwide business development manager Matt Curtis. SkinCeuticals partnered with Adara last spring with introduction of its Advanced Clinical Spa to the Adara facility. It is a happy marriage where skincare technology and medical procedures meet. There are only 42 in the country and only this one in Houston. Curtis served as moderator for a beautiful body/face Q&A with Sra and Syma.

When should you start fighting the battle of aging? “You’re really never too young to start and SkinCeuticals has done a really good job for all skin types and all ages,” Sra said. “The science behind it really works.” In fact, in testament to the efficacy of SkinCeuticals, founded in 1994, L’Oreal purchased the company from its founders in 2005.

Sra advises her patients to have a consistent regimen and use only the products that are proven to work . It’s a less product is more philosophy.

Adara Medical Spa’s most popular service? Botox. No real surprise there as the fight against crinkly eyes and laugh lines begins early and Botox is quick and easy and,as Sra notes, can be administered during a lunch hour.

As for getting and or staying fit, Kim recommends choosing a regimen that you will follow and don’t expect overnight miracles. Consistency is the key.
