Straight Off the Runway: A Top Dallas Designer Offers an Unbelievable Fashion Week Bonus at Her Local Store

BY // 09.12.16

“Dallas women have long served as an inspiration for me,” says Dallas-born designer Lela Rose on the eve of her Spring 2017 fashion presentation. “They get dressed for any and every occasion.”

In a stylish gift to her hometown — and her coterie of chic devotees here — Rose is offering two looks, right off the Spring 2017 runway, exclusively for purchase at her recently renovated Highland Park Village boutique.

The notion of offering buy-it-now runway looks is a trend that began with e-commerce sites such as Moda Operandi, and is now used by many designers as a way to satisfy the instant-gratification appetite of their customers. It’s fast fashion — literally.

For her Spring 2017 collection, which makes its debut at noon today, Rose drew inspiration from her affinity for entertaining. Many of the ensembles are wearable from day to evening in a way that is smart, and slightly nostalgic.

Of the collection, looks 10 and 18 will be available for purchase in store this afternoon — just as they are being shown in New York. The former is a canary silk shirtwaist dress, and the latter is a two-toned pleated gingham shirtdress.

“Both looks represents the overall theme of the collection,” says Rose. “Vibrantly hued, feminine, and cheerful.” We can think of few things more cheery than an excuse to pop in to one of our favorite Highland Park Village boutiques.
