Plenty of party food for the Saturday brunch fest
Sculptra, Restylane, Galderma, Allergan, Botox, Voluma — ah, the vocabulary of the beautiful woman. These were the buzz words when Adara Medical Spa hosted a bustling brunch for clients and new friends.
The ladies, and a few gents, poured in to hear about the latest non-invasive beauty treatments, book appointments, stock up on skin care products, and take advantage of the brunch discounts.
At the helm of the bustling scene was Adara founder Dr. Karan Sra, a native Houstonian, who is in her ninth year of advising patients on the best treatments for their age and skin types.
“The party is an opportunity for people to come in and ask questions in a more informal atmosphere and to see the different things that we offer both in terms of procedures and product,” the dermatologist said.
The doctor was particularly pumped on this day because it was recently announced that Skinceuticals had tapped Adara to be the Houston flagship for its highly-regarded skin care products. That honor was the result of several things not the least of which was Sra’s reputation. Add the fact that the spa is sleek and sophisticated and earned MC2 Architects an AIA award for interior architecture.
Sra noted that, through this partnership, Adara will have the largest collection of Skinceuticals products in the city. That means all of the firm’s anti-aging, acne and prevention products.
In between sipping mimosas and noshing on pastries, ladies gathered at the product counters to learn about the magical potions and in the treatment room where Dr. Samantha Robare-Stout, one of six doctors in the office, presented a Sculptra demonstration. Later, Sra demonstrated the beauty of Botox.
A few insights from Sra:
- As products and procedures become more sophisticated, there is less down time, no need for “hiding out.”
- Botox is the most popular product with a new Botox filler, called Vollure, now available
- The biggest mistake most women make is loading up on costly products. Less is more, she says adding, get the advice of an experienced board certified dermatologist. It’s a better investment and better bang for the buck.
At age 41, Sra says that she uses Botox, Clear & Brilliant laser treatment for dark spots, and micro needling. It’s all so quick and easy today, she says, that she gets her treatments on her lunch hour and is ready to see patients at 1 o’clock.
