Editor’s note: The shopping scene in Houston is forever changing — and growing more upscale. It’s hard to keep up with all the new stores and big events. But don’t worry, PaperCity has you covered.

Jeweler John Hardy opens its first proprietary U.S. store in a 1,000-square-foot space in River Oaks District this September. Luxury neighbors include Tom Ford, Dior, Hermès and Cartier, as well as new restaurants such as French eatery Toulouse, Italian spot Taverna, steak and seafood concept Steak 48 and Hopdoddy Burger Bar. Following the brand’s Houston debut, John Hardy unveils a flagship boutique in New York City this November.

The men behind BeDesign on Richmond, Adrian Duenas, Marcelo Saenz  and Vassili Tsipianitis, are opening a Kartell flagship store in Houston this fall — the first Kartell store in Texas. In the past 60 years, some of the most iconic modernist designers have contributed to Kartell: Joe Colombo, Anna Castelli Ferrieri, Piero Lissoni, Gae Aulenti, Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper, Mico Magistretti, Antonio Citterio, Ron Arad and, perhaps most famously, Philippe Starck.

Houston’s Define Body & Mind studio, owned by Henry Richardson, heads to Dubai for its first international location. The expansion marks the 12th studio for Define.

River Oaks District adds two more boutiques to its now-open roster. French cosmetic and skincare brand NARS and scent emporium Jo Malone are officially open for business.

Indoor cycling studio Ride opens its fourth Houston-area location on Monday, June 27 in The Woodlands at 1950 Hughes Landing Boulevard.

The Galleria adds to its expanding fleet of retailers with three new tenants. British fashion label AllSaints is now open on Level 1 (Saks wing), stocking the brand’s menswear, womenswear and accessories. Also on Level 1, high-tech cycling bike company Peloton, which offers bikes with online streaming technology for at-home rides, as well as other fitness equipment, accessories and apparel. Montreal-based brand Garage also opens in Galleria I on Level 2 in July. Look for the store’s signature denim alongside a bevy of womenswear and accessories.

The boutique Whim, owned by Cindy Reich, has opened at 3637 West Alabama Street in the Hollywood Square complex (where David Brown Flowers and Tribute Goods are located), stocking contemporary designers like Jenny Kayne, Grey Jason Wu, Warm and French label La Prestic.

Contemporary womenswear also fills the racks at Belle Ami boutique, newly opened at 2943 Ferndale Street. Look for One Teaspoon Denim, jewelry designer Vanessa Mooney and Italian brand Sofia.

Led by Dr. Karan K. Sra, Dermatological Association of Texas opens its fourth Houston-area location, this one in Pearland, on Friday, July 1, at 10907 Memorial Hermann Drive. The 4,200-square-foot space is the company’s largest practice to date, boasting 10 patient rooms. In addition to the four dermatological practices, the group also owns Adara Medical Spa in Houston’s Museum District.
