Major Designer Dies; NYFW Makes Changes: The Industry News

Fashion designer Arnold Scaasi, who dressed First Ladies including Barbara Bush, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush, and stars including Barbra Streisand and Elizabeth Taylor, died this week in New York at 85. The fashion world has lost a major and long-lasting talent, and we were saddened to hear of his passing. You can read about Scaasi’s life and career here and here. By the way, did you know that Scaasi’s birth name was Arnold Isaacs?

In other industry news, logos are making waves leading up to New York Fashion Week. Both the Council of Fashion Designers of America and WME-IMG recently unveiled new logos, and you can expect to see them everywhere come September. Click here for more on that.
