Luxury apparel without the high-maintenance — sounds très appealing, does it not? The newest boutique in Knox-Henderson in Dallas and Houston’s Rice Village, Kit and Ace, stocks tanks, T-shirts, sweaters, skirts and shorts for both men and women, crafted from super-soft technical cashmere that’s machine-washable for a new take on functional luxury.

The brand has design in its DNA: Founders Shannon and JJ Wilson are, respectively, the wife and son of Lululemon founder Chip Wilson. Their Kit and Ace label is not of the athletic variety, however. Each minimalist piece transitions from day to night, all while keeping its shape.

“We are about design-led, versatile, wearable luxury … innovative, technical fabrics paired with modern silhouettes,” JJ Wilson says. The 1,550-square-foot Dallas shop also showcases local talent, including a light installation by Wayne Works, photography by Kyle Steed (who also painted a mural on the Kit and Ace exterior) and a wall of artwork by Chris Bingham. 1802 McMillan Ave., Dallas; 2401 Times Blvd., Houston.
