A Former Clinton Volunteer Turns Her Passion For Africa Into a Jewelry Line — Now You Can Snag the Statement Pieces

BY Gabriella Bradley // 06.06.16

After visiting Africa as a volunteer for the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative in Rwanda, Ashley Pittman fell in love with the people and spirit of the continent. Today, she’s translated that passion into an eponymous jewelry line that directly helps fund healthcare and education initiatives in rural Kenya.

Capturing the beauty of the region, Pittman’s rustic yet elegant baubles are handcrafted in Kenya using repurposed horn, semiprecious gemstones, bronze and materials indigenous to East Africa.

Snag the designer’s ornate pieces at her upcoming two-day sample sale (Monday, June 13 from 1 to 7 pm and Tuesday, June 14, from noon to 6 pm, at 4809 Cole Avenue, Suite 240). We’ll be stocking up on gem-encrusted bangles, earrings and necklaces — the perfect complement to a fresh summer wardrobe.
