Supply and Demand

Stanley Korshak was the first in Dallas to be privy to menswear emporium Suitsupply’s perfect-fit aesthetic when the Dutch brand’s boutique opened in-store last year. The expansion continues with a new 6,700-square-foot Suitsupply flagship in the burgeoning 3700 block of West Village. We’re in awe of the suits, jackets, ties, shirting and trousers, all made with the finest Italian fabrics, with special attention paid to structure and detail — particularly the jackets, which employ layers of cotton reinforced with horsehair in each lining so it smoothly conforms to the body. The emporium also has a personal tailoring department offering top-notch service and expertise.

“The common denominator in everything we do, in every department, is that we offer a product that is a good fit,” says Suitsupply CEO Fokke de Jong. “You can have a wool cashmere jacket in a perfect fabric that’s very well-made, but if it’s the wrong size, the whole effect is diminished.” De Jong, who flies 600 to 700 hours every year, favors Suitsupply’s travel suit in wool mohair, which is free of synthetic materials and is wrinkle resistant. “I could live in those suits because they have to be somewhat forgiving for me. And my favorite jacket right now is the basket-weave Ferla. It looks very rich, but it’s breathable.” A dapper shoe selection and accessories and made-to-measure services round out the offerings. 3700 McKinney Ave., 214.306.9856.
