Storied French Fabric House Gets Into Swimwear With a New Fab Collaboration: Going to the Beach Just Got More Fashionable

BY // 07.06.17

We’re a little wallpaper and fabric-obsessed here at PaperCity. But its impractical to recover our walls or reupholster our sofas each time we stumble across a print we love. That’s why we love it when a design house collaborates with a fashion house on a wearable collection.

The latest capsule collection that has us smitten is by Pierre Frey, the French upholstery fabric house founded in 1935, and J.Crew. Two swimsuits, a tres-chic tunic and summery scarf are fashioned from Pierre Frey’s perfectly-tropical archival Alexandrie print, a Napoleon III-style illustration inspired by the Egyptian landscape.

“I’m always looking for new ways to inspire our clients. The opportunity to work with J.Crew to use this beloved 19th century pattern in a swimwear collection is an exciting alliance that pushes beyond the expected,” says Pierre Frey, director of communications for the storied fabric house.

The collection, ideal for the Texas eternal summer, is available online here and ranges from $50 – $125.
