Decorative Center Houston Hosts 30th Anniversary Celebration

BY // 04.27.15

Decorative Center Houston turns 30 this week, and what better way to blow it out than by inviting the public to an all-day decor extravaganza? Every showroom will be open for Spring Market 2015 on Thursday, April 30, 9 am to 6 pm, with many launching new lines and presenting the latest in spring home-decor trends. Presentations start early, with something for everyone, from the novice looking to break into the business to the seasoned pro.

Andrea Favaretto Rubelli, CEO of Donghia and co-CEO of Rubelli, opens the day with breakfast at the Donghia showroom, narrating an exhibition by Rubelli Design Studio of Venice that features seven installations whose common denominator is a thread of white silk. Krissa Rossbund, senior style editor of Traditional Home, offers tips on how to get your works published in print (Duralee showroom). Capping off the night are the eighth annual Stars of Design and fourth annual Stars on the Rise Awards, honoring talent in the categories of graphic, interior, jewelry and landscape design, as well as photography, architecture and art. Other Spring Market presenters and attendees include: Charles S. Cohen, president/owner of Decorative Center Houston; afternoon keynote speaker Meredith Xavier, founder of Ligné Agency; and television personality Nina Magon, the award-winning interior designer of Contour Interior Design.

Three works from architectural photographer, Durston Saylor's "Circumstantial Evidence" exhibit, opening 4/30/15 at the Decorative Center, Houston.

Also not to be missed is “Circumstantial Evidence,” an exhibition spotlighting internationally acclaimed architectural photographer Durston Saylor. The show, on display in the courtyard, presents Saylor’s architectural work in the context of his current personal investigations of form, color and texture in a variety of non-architectural subjects.

The event is gratis and open to the public. To RSVP, click here.
