Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl Mansion On Sale: The Star Stayed for Free, But Brought a Few Designer Demands

BY // 02.08.17

Lady Gaga had Houstonians buzzing as they tried to guess the location of the Mediterranean style mansion where she bunked during Super Bowl week. An Instagram photo and a tip from Airbnb had the Memorial area targeted and eventually several media outlets pinpointed the address — 8802 Memorial Drive.

It was a moderately well-kept secret that Longoria Collection owner Elizabeth Fertitta and her family had to sit on for several days as hers was the luxury goods emporium that was tapped to bring the house up to Lady Gaga standards.

“We obviously had to be very, very quiet about it,” Fertitta says.

An Airbnb representative contacted the store about sprucing up the Robert Dame and Chandos Interiors custom residence that was on the market for sale and had only minimal furnishings and little or no accessories.

That was less than a week before the star (her parents in tow) would be unpacking her suitcases in the master suite and lounging by the sumptuous swimming pool.

“We had to hustle to make this happen,” says Tommy Dorsey, Fertitta’s father. It was a full-on effort by family and the Longoria Collection team. They had from Monday to Friday to line up furnishings, accessories and even bed linens and fill a complete bookcase. The installation was done over the weekend and Lady Gaga moved in on Monday before Super Bowl Sunday.

So what does a mega star demand? “We were told that she loves black and white and a clean style,” Fertitta said. Their mandate was “to lighten the house up.’

The team, which included Fertitta’s mother interior designer Sylvia Dorsey, dressed the beds in plush Sferra linens plus decorative pillows and bed covers from Lili Allesandra. The bathroom towels were Sferra as well and the soaps were Compagnie de Provence in a light, clean scent. They were told that Lady Gaga does not like scents in her dwellings.

They moved in furnishings, including a bed from the Dorsey’s home, artwork from Liz Marsh, and accessories from Aerin Lauder and Kelly Wearstler.

The five-bedroom, six-bath, 10,000-square-foot mansion is on the market for a cool $7.5 million, listed with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty. The house was listed on Airbnb for $10,000 a night, but the fee was waived in lieu of the tremendous publicity.
