Lakewood just might be Dallas’ most lovely neighborhood, what with its position on White Rock Lake, the abundance of trees and grassy parks, and, of course, block after block of charming homes. The Lakewood Home Festival showcases the cream of the crop, from historic gems to stunning new builds.

On Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12, the 41st Annual Lakewood Home Festival tour will give an up-close-and-personal look at six of the neighborhood’s most enviable properties. It’s a study in historical architecture and the latest design trends — so you’ll probably walk away with some decor inspo for your own dwelling.

This year’s theme is “We are Lakewood: Remembering our neighbor, Vickie Thompson,” in honor of the legendary volunteer and community member. Tickets for the tour are available online.

Here’s a sneak peek at this year’s featured homes:

Opulence and simplicity marry beautifully in this Spanish Colonial home. With its custom stained Saltillo tile floors, airy white walls and stunning custom art, 5638 Bob O Link Dr looks like it was plucked from the mountains of Taos.

There’s just something so cool about a house built with local stone. This contemporary home gets character and curb appeal from a combination of split face and honed stone hand-picked from a nearby Texas quarry. Inside, ample windows show off the manicured property, and bold decor makes for an approachably modern look.

The owner built this stately Mediterranean home in 2013 as a nod to their Greek heritage. The inspiration came to life with sweeping arches, a red Spanish tile roof and wrought iron details. The gorgeous outdoor living spaces don’t hurt either.

This classic home is another great example of how to bring a historic home into the modern day. Built in 1927 and remodeled in 2011, 6708 Lakewood Blvd. balances old and new with timeless finesse. The tiled stairs off the back patio are especially nice.

What this 1960s ranch house lacks in grandeur, it more than makes up for in style. The mid-century modern architecture is complemented by the homeowner’s contemporary decor and collection of eclectic art. Not pictured: the sweet pool in the backyard.
