Dallas’ Best New Brunch Restaurants: Ambitious Menus Pump Up the Weekend Food Scene

BY Brooke Roberts // 04.26.17

With spring’s much-welcomed arrival, several Dallas restaurants are serving up brand-new brunch menus. Whether you gravitate towards classic chicken and waffles or have a more adventurous palate satiated by authentic Brazilian fare, grab some friends, and start the weekend right.

These are Dallas brunch spots worthy of becoming a weekend destination.

Cane Rosso‘s White Rock location is making our brunch dreams come true with $1 mimosas and $3 Blood Marys. Its recently launched brunch menu includes a meatball waffle sandwich; vegetable frittata; the “Mother Clucker,” crispy fried chicken on a house-made bacon marmalade biscuit, drizzled with habanero maple syrup; and the “Wafflebird,” a house-made sweet waffle topped with vanilla mascarpone, Nutella, cookie butter, crushed cookies, toasted marshmallows, and powdered sugar.

Brunch is offered Saturdays and Sundays, 11 am to 3 pm. Cane Rosso, 7328 Gaston Ave., 214.660.3644.

Located on the first floor of the new One Uptown residential tower, Fogo de Chao now offers brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. For $36.95, get the full Churrasco experience with fruits, Greek yogurt, and Brazilian-inspired breakfast dishes such as Pão de Queijo Egg Bake, Braised Beef Rib Hash, and the Seasonal Sunday Roast. Don’t skip Fogo’s brunch bar, which offers Bloody Marys and Passion Fruit Mimosas.

Fogo de Chao, 2619 McKinney Ave., 214.720.2777.

Nikkei, Uptown’s new Japanese Peruvian restaurant, launched a Sunday Dallas brunch packed with unique dishes. There are shared plates, like the Huevos Con Caviar (deviled eggs, marinated caviar, wasabi crème fraîche), or items you’ll want all to yourself, such as the Koji Chicken & Waffles (miso fried chicken thigh, sweet and spicy riciotta waffle, syrup, and green tea whipped butter).

Order one of Nikkei’s inventive cocktails like the Holy Moses (Tanqueray, St. Germain, aperol, lemon juice, ginger beer); or, opt for $5 mimosas or a mimosa carafe and full bottle of champagne for $20.

Brunch hours are Sundays, 11 am to 3 pm. Nikkei, 2404 Cedar Springs Road, 214.983.1525.

Last month, we lunched at Lovers Seafood & Market, where we enjoyed fresh red snapper and a bunch of flavorful appetizers. The restaurant now offers a Dallas brunch as well — its menu features a lobster-kale omelet, sautéed shrimp and chorizo tacos, crème brûlée French toast (with lemon-fig jam and candied pecans), and avocado-charred corn migas. Enjoy your meal with bottomless mimosas.

Brunch hours are Saturdays and Sundays, 11 am to 3 pm. Lovers Seafood & Market, 5200 W. Lovers Lane, 214.414.9880.
