Dallas In Full Bloom

BY // 02.25.15

Painting a colorful canvas each spring, the Dallas Arboretum hosts the 31st annual Dallas Blooms festival, Deep in the Heart of Texans, February 28 through April 12. Since its inception more than 30 years ago, the event has become the largest floral festival in the Southwest. “Our horticultural department has planted more than 500,000 spring-blooming buds, including the largest display of tulips in a public garden anywhere west of Holland,” says Dallas Arboretum board chair Bill Graue. Expect fields resplendent with daffodils, hyacinths, pansies and perennials — buds planted just for the occasion, as well as the garden’s signature collection of 3,000 azaleas that bloom through the end of April. Festival activities include seated tea parties, outdoor concerts, Mommy and Me Mondays and Tiny Tot Tuesdays.
