A European Christmas Village Pops Up in Houston: Restaurant Treats, Shopping Deals and Marvelous Music Await

BY // 12.03.16

Hit Rice Village next week for a party hopping evening filled with Christmas lights, carolers and holiday treats galore. Yes, Houston is getting its own European Christmas village. It’s time for Marche de Noel Holiday in the Village, a european themed shopping, strolling and signing event that’s open to the public.

Jingle and mingle at El Meson, the unique Spanish restaurant with Cuban flair, for a special tapas and wine tasting menu at 5 pm.

Feeling post election or holiday blues? New Living is providing free massages and therapy at its organic mattress and handmade furniture store. Trust me, you need them to knead you.

Afterwards, hop to Fellini for a Little Italy party with free coffee samples and 99 cent cannolis. Christmas carolers from Faith Baptist Church and the Anthony Macbeth Youth Adult Group will be singing through the night throughout the Village all the while.

Head down the block to Rice Boulevard for traditional holiday treats from Village Clothier and Woven Arts USA for a Turkish bazaar, teas and wine. Helen Greek Food and Wine — one of the top restaurants in Houston — is also offering a special menu.

Of course, Christmas should center around the spirit of giving. Wear an ugly Christmas sweater and get free hummus at Hungry’s or recycle a gently used toy by dropping it off at El Meson, Perimeter Gallery and Village Clothier. The toys will be donated to the Children’s Assessment Center.
