What: Grand opening of Abrahams Oriental Rugs‘ third showroom

Where: New digs at 1801 Post Oak Boulevard

PC Moment: Attaining the pinnacle of 43 years in the oriental rug business, Omana and Sam Abraham celebrated in grand style with opening of their third showroom in Houston. This posh palace of antique and contemporary rugs has taken over the jewel box of a store that was previously home to Tenenbaum Jewelers.

More than 200 guests joined the festivities that included light bites from El Tiempo and a musical interlude courtesy of Houston Grand Opera. Through the decades, the Abrahams have made their mark in Houston not only through their respected business but also through their support of numerous arts organizations including Houston Grand Opera, Houston Ballet and the Houston Symphony.

The other two showrooms are located in Decorative Center Houston and in Rice Village.

Who: The Abrahams’ daughter Elizabeth Colombowala, Suzanne and Jack McCrary, Scott Ipsen, Charlotte Hill, Rachel Duvvuri, Kay and Lon Stern, Astley Blair, Debbie and Gary Gibson, Anna and Hal Holliday, Judy and Mike Tyson, Caroline and Myron Messner, and Consul General of India Anupam Ray.
