What: Memorial Park Conservancy‘s Annual Green Gala.

Where: Memorial Park Running Trails Center.

Who: Chair Anita Smith; honoree and former chairman of the board of MPC Jim Porter; Mike Dishberger and Karlo Martinez, who were awarded with the 2016 Ima Hogg Service Award; MPC CEO Shellye ArnoldGerald Smith, Kay Kamas, Leslie and Jack Blanton, Anna and Hal Holliday, Lorraine and Ed Wulfe, Terry Wayne Jones and Jay Jones, Debbie and Stephen Costello, Ellen Cohen, and Lindsey and Bradley Beard.

PC Moment: The MPC Gala celebrated the success of the initial implementations of the Park’s long-range master plan, which was unanimously approved by city council in April 2015. More than 400 supporters of the conservancy project for the massive 1,500 acre park raised more than $300,000 in one swoop. City Kitchen prepared a slew of delectable light bites for the casual “no ties” gala, while Divisi Strings AMP’D translated modern pop music into traditional string quartet tunes.
