A Mystery Fashion Show Breaks Into Murder Mayhem — and a Historic Houston Building Serves as the Backdrop

BY // 05.24.16

WHAT: Heart of Fashion’s May Mystery Show

WHERE: The historic Julia Ideson Reading Room at the Houston Public Library

WHO: Heart of Fashion Founder and CEO Vivian Wise, her parents Bill and Marie Wise and sister Mary Elizabeth Sand, IdeaWorks Founder Charles Ward, de Boulle Diamond & Jewelry’s Denis and Karen Boulle and son Nick Boulle, Houston fashion plate Diane Lokey Farb, and a bevy of stylish social swells like Todd Fiscus, Ceron, Sergio Morales, Fady Armanious, Jeff Shell, Todd Ramos, Peter Martino, Fritz McDonald, Beth Muecke, Mickey Rosmarin, and Bill Baldwin.

PC MOMENT:  Vivian Wise and Heart of Fashion hosted the May Mystery Show featuring stunning designs by Carolina Herrera — courtesy of Tootsies — and jewels by de Boulle Diamond & Jewelry. The runway event, produced by Todd Events and Matuszewski Productions, took place at the Julia Ideson building downtown and provided the perfect backdrop for the theatrical plot twist that unfolded during the evening.

Actors from The Catastrophic Theatre entertained the audience — who were sipping champagne and eating mini cupcakes from Sprinkles — with a murder mystery. To close the event, Wise introduced the evening’s honoree, her sister Mary Elizabeth Sand, who spoke about her personal experience with lupus. The evening’s event raised funds for the Texas Legacy Foundation, which will make a direct contribution to the Lupus Foundation of America.
