Seriously, on a Tuesday night, Steak 48 is packed to its chic rafters with the young and the restless and the not-so-young yet still restless. Restaurants across the Houston landscape might be hurting, but this pleasure dome with damn good food appears to be rollicking all week long.

We had expected a less intense atmosphere of testosterone and Juvederm so early in the week. We were oh so wrong. Vogue México might have assumed the same as it planned the Houston celebration of the October issue‘s salute to Texas on the second floor of the River Oaks District steak house.

A tribute to Vogue Mexico‘s grasp of the city’s vibrant night scene, the publication clearly picked the hottest spot in town for the fete. The giddy madness of Steak 48 notwithstanding, the party was a huge success with all manner of social swells, Latin beauties, fashionistas and gents about town pouring in. Taking in the throng, hosted by Vogue México editor-in-chief Karla Martinez de Sala and  managing editor Barbara Teran, were Steak 48 owner Jeffrey Mastro and the brand’s senior vice president Oliver Badgio, who surely enjoyed the energy that swept through the restaurant and into the party room.

Headliner in the crowd was fashion/social icon Lynn Wyatt, rightly positioned in the magazine as the grand dame of all things Texas. Her movie star cachet had fans lining up to snag a minute or two with the gracious diva.

Steak 48 rolled out some of its tastiest hors d’oeuvres for the bash including crispy shrimp deviled eggs, seared New York strip on a hash brown potato with truffle butter and wild mushroom crostinis. Add plenty of champagne and wine to the restaurant’s tony offerings.

The terribly chic crowd included Isabel and Danny David, Estela and David Cockrell, Ceron, Ursaline Hamilton, Sarah Jawda, Saba Jawda, Mary Grace Gray, Maryam Naderi and Tamar Mendelsohn.
