PC Moment: Guest speaker novelist Elin Hilderbrand told the gathering of more than 560 that her battle with breast cancer was less a burden than an awakening, telling the audience that “only in facing what threatens our being do we learn what it means to be alive.” Chairs Kristina Somerville and Hallie Vanderhider led the benefit for the Bobetta C. Ling Breast Care Center at Memorial Hermann Memorial City to record proceeds of more than $400,000.
