Superstar Violinist, One of World’s Most Beautiful People, is Roaring Into Dallas

Cue the violins — in the best way possible. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has revealed the esteemed musical guest for its annual Gala: Joshua Bell. Yes, the one and only.

The superstar violinist will make a special appearance at this year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, September 28, and will perform live alongside the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, along with guest conductor Christian Reif, who will be making his DSO debut.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the iconic I.M. Pei-designed institution, heralded as one of the most acoustically perfect buildings in the world — and certainly one of the best venues to see the Grammy Award-winning artist on stage.

With a career that spans more than 30 years, Bell has recorded more than 40 albums and earned countless accolades as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, conductor and director.

In addition to making his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 17, being featured on the Academy Award-winning soundtrack for The Red Violin, and accepting the Avery Fisher Prize in 2007 (given to American musicians for outstanding achievement in classical music), he has also been named a “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum and one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful” People.

Hall has been called one of the greatest American violinists of our time, so seeing him in action is truly a priceless experience — just ask the three American presidents he has performed for in the White House.

This is also not the first time Bell has headlined the DSO Gala. The last was in 2011, when he performed to a sold-out house. Tables for the black-tie event — chaired this year by Barbara and Don Daseke, with Kathryn and Craig Hall as honorary chairs — are sure to go quickly.
