BY // 06.23.18

If there’s anyone that knows Austin like the back of their hand, it is the city’s top bloggers. We asked Austin’s best bloggers for their summer bucket list, and they didn’t disappoint.

Read on for their expert recommendations and Austin must-dos:

“To me, the perfect summer in Austin is anything that involves a cold drink and a body of water, like the frosĂ© at Azul Rooftop and their amazing pool. Deep Eddy is another great choice for swimming, plus you can walk across the street to 68 Degrees and have amazing salads, pasta and wine on their covered patio.

Or maybe you need to avoid the heat altogether and head to Alamo Drafthouse to watch new summer flicks and enjoy themed meals, like the new Jurassic World with Deadpool.”

-Monique Sandhu, ATX Eats and Treats

“My perfect summer in Austin consists of a mint iced lattes at Hank’s, queso and frozen prickly pear margaritas at Fresa’s, and swimming at Krause Springs.”

“Summer to me looks like rosĂ© by the pool at Hotel Ella with eats by Goodall’s kitchen (think a salad AND fries). A dip in Deep Eddy followed by a delicious burger and topo chico at Pool Burger is also a must do. In the summertime, when I want something indoors and away from the heat, I love wandering around the Blanton.”

“As an Austin native, my ideal summer day in the city is spent being active. And in a city like Austin that’s super easy to do! I’d start the day with a run or walk around Town Lake, followed by a dip in Barton Springs to cool off after all that sweating. No trip to Barton is complete without a juice from Juiceland, my go to is the Peachy Greens. Add ginger and hemp protein, please!

If you want something more filling, try lunch at La Condesa, they make my absolute favorite salad in town the Mixta Con Pollo. And to feed my sweet tooth in the summer heat, cool down with a vegan matcha gelato bowl from The Squeezery. You won’t be disappointed!”

“Austin summers can be a magical time! To beat the heat, take a dip at Deep Eddy pool. The spring-fed pool has clear cold water! Then pop over to Pool Burger for burgers and cocktails or head to South First (Street) and kick back to some live music during happy hour at Lenoir’s shady patio. Make sure to drop by the Greeting from Austin mural for a digital postcard!”
