Dallas weekends are packed full of events, but how many of them are truly worthy of your time? PaperCity‘s new events calendar offers a curated look at all of the best things to do in the area. But everyone can still use an expert.

PaperCity‘s Weekend Expert Megan Ziots culls our calendar for your must dos in this new weekly series. This weekend, it’s all about Pride Month and festivals.

Celebrate Pride Month

June is LGBT Pride Month. Celebrate at the Miller Lite Music Festival at Fair Park this Saturday, June 1. It’ll take place in the Centennial Building, Automobile Building and the Esplanade. From 11 am to 10 pm, there will be vendor booths, pet adoptions, live entertainment from local bands, The Family Pride Zone and Teen Pride. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for teens ages 13 to 17, and free for kids.

On Sunday, June 2 there will also be a free parade encircling the Cotton Bowl at 2 pm.

Attend a Fest

DreamHack, the ultimate gaming lifestyle festival, is taking over Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center for its Dallas debut on Friday May 31 through Sunday, June 2. The 24-hour a day festival features everything a gamer could want. Throughout the festival there are pro esports tournaments, collegiate matches, LAN party, music concerts, cosplay champions, panels, art, activities, an expo and more. The Dallas Festival of Books & Ideas is taking place across the city from Tuesday, May 28 to Saturday, June 1. Events range from The Physical City at UTDallas Center for BrainHealth, which will consider our growing elderly population and how Dallas can address its elders’ needs, to The Literary City at Interabang Books, which will discuss what makes a city literary. There are also talks such as The Welcoming City at The Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture, Science in the City at UT Southwestern, Summer in the City at Dallas Public Library, and The Inspired City at the Dallas Museum of Art. It’s free to register and you can either sign up for individual tickets or all six city tracks.

Taste Addison, Addison’s annual foodie festival is happening at Addison Circle Park from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2. Since 1993, Addison has hosted this food, entertainment, and family festival. This year’s participating restaurants include Blue Goose Cantina, Dickey’s Barbecue, Fogo de Chao, Ida Claire, Little Greek Addison, Thai Orchid and many more. The main stage music lineup includes rockers The All-American Rejects, Plain White T’s, and Smash Mouth. Adult general admission costs $15 and includes admission to Friday and Saturday. The event is free for all ages on Sunday.

Dinner & Drinks

This Sunday, June 2, the Dallas Arboretum is hosting a Summer Celebration Garden to Table dinner. Presented by Beyond the Box, this four-course dinner will include hors d’oeuvres, a summer salad, roasted Cornish game hen and Texas Blueberry Cheesecake. There will also be wine and beer. The dinner takes place from 6 pm to 8 pm and costs $99 per non-member. You can register here.

On Saturday, June 1, The Stoneleigh is hosting a Rosé Garden Party from 11 am to 4 pm. For $50, you’ll receive rosé, frosé and signature cocktails and bites by Chef Wade Burch of Perle on Maple. Wear your garden best and enjoy the paint station and yard games. There will also be a DJ and Henry’s Homemade Ice Cream stations. The event is 21 and up only and tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.

MUTTS Canine Cantina is throwing a Cider for Pups party on Saturday, June 1 from 12 pm to 4 pm. There will be on-site adoptions and for every Austin Eastciders purchase will support Operation Kindness. If you adopt a pup at the event, you’ll receive one complimentary month membership at MUTTS. The event is free to attend.

See a Show

Part of the Broadway at the Bass series, the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth is showing Anastasia this weekend. Performances are Tuesday, May 28 through Sunday, June 2. This show transports you from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat.

Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love, and family. Tickets are available here.

Mitski is a Japanese American singer-songwriter known for indie hits such as “Nobody” and “Your Best American Girl.” She’s playing at Canton Hall this Sunday, June 2. Tickets are sold out on the Canton Hall website, but there are some available on StubHub and other resale sites. The show starts at 8 pm with Dilly Dally, a Canadian alternative rock band, opening.

Check Out The Union in Uptown

The Union, Dallas’ newest Uptown hotspot, is hosting its Grand Opening Party on the Plaza this Saturday. Starting at 10:30 am, there will be yoga at The Christopher apartments led by We Yogis. Festivities will follow on The Union’s Plaza until 12:30 pm. The event is open to the public. Nearby food spots will be offering special deals, such as discounts at Creamistry, $2 frosé and $3 mimosas at Taco Lingo, and free roses at Tom Thumb.
